Inspect the complete proposed slab batch
- View the fronts of all proposed slabs and compare background shade and natural markings.
- Request suitable lighting and, where useful, dry and wet views that are clearly labelled.
- Look at edges and accessible backs, and discuss visible chips, repairs, filling or other natural features.
- Record each slab's dimensions, specified thickness and proposed usable area.
- Compare the chosen batch with the intended cutting layout and finish sample.
If you cannot visit, request dated full-slab images, a live selection video and a labelled list. Ask the team to identify the exact batch in the quotation. A historical business photograph is a reference, not proof of today's stock.
Ask for the material description and source
Record the supplier's trade name, grade description and available source information. Ask what those terms mean for the selected batch. Colour alone does not establish quarry origin or a precise variety. Treat an unverified image caption or a simple home test as insufficient evidence of authenticity.
If origin or a particular material specification is central to your purchase, request appropriate supporting documentation and discuss independent checking before ordering. We group unconfirmed gallery images by visible appearance and application rather than inventing trade names.

Before dispatch, confirm the packing method and request photographs that show the labelled selection. On delivery, check the piece list, visible condition and quantity using the agreed process. Record any issue promptly and discuss it with the supplier before the stone is cut further or installed.
