Trade names are the start of the comparison

Makrana marble is sold under familiar names such as white, Albeta, Dungri and Kumari. A name alone does not define the background shade, amount of marking, dimensions or grade of every slab offered under it. Sellers may describe similar selections differently. Record the name and inspect the actual lot before comparing prices.

Our catalogue has eight Makrana trade selections. The notes below help you create a shortlist; the final material description and suitability must be agreed for your order. Gallery photographs are labelled by visible appearance unless a trade variety has been confirmed.

Albeta vs Dungri: compare the actual slabs

Begin with two sets of full-slab photos taken under comparable lighting. Place the proposed Albeta and Dungri selections beside the same floor plan, wall palette and finish sample. Check whether you prefer quieter movement, stronger veining or the appearance of a particular lot.

For a large floor, compare the full quantity rather than selecting one attractive piece. Ask for a layout of the proposed slabs and identify any pieces that need a particular orientation. For a carved object, discuss the block or blank that will be used; a floor photograph does not prove that the same selection is available for sculpture.

Compare price and specification together

A lower square-foot rate can describe a different thickness, slab size, quality selection or included scope. Obtain the measured dimensions, usable area, finish and processing terms with each quote. Compare transport and fitting separately. The Makrana marble price guide explains how to build an itemised comparison.

Do not assume that one variety is always cheaper, whiter or suitable for every use. Availability and the specific selection matter. Tell the supplier whether you need flooring, stairs, wall pieces or carving material so the quotation addresses that application.

Make a batch shortlist you can verify

  • Request dated full-slab photographs, with close-ups of natural features.
  • Record the supplier's trade name, grade description and source information.
  • Confirm dimensions and thickness for the proposed pieces.
  • Compare the sample and full batch under similar lighting.
  • Agree how the reserved slabs will be marked and photographed before packing.

Use the Makrana marble buying checklist when inspecting and reserving a selection. If you prefer to compare in person, arrange a visit to our Makrana address.
